Strategic Services

SeaRoc is actively involved in promoting and assisting the development of the Marine Renewable Energy Industry as a whole. To this end, we are participating in projects such as the following:

• Guidelines for the Use of Met Ocean Data

  SeaRoc have co-authored these guidelines for the use of met ocean data through the lifecycle of a marine renewables development together with ABP Marine Environmental Research and the Met Office. They will be published by CIRIA during the second half of 2007.

• Development of Health Safety and Environment Industry Standards

  Sponsored by E-on, SeaRoc have been asked to lead a group to develop industry standards for HSE in the offshore renewables industry.

• BWEA Steering Groups

  SeaRoc are active members of both the HSE and Marine Steering Groups for the BWEA.

• BWEA Best Practice HSE Guidelines for Marine Renewables

  SeaRoc are leading on the development of the new Best Practice HSE Guidelines for the wave and tidal sector. Extensive engagement with the industry and the Health and Safety Executive will be followed by detailed review by the Steering Group to ensure the guidelines are appropriate and suitable for the industry.
