Reporting to COWRIECOWRIE (Collaborative Offshore Wind Research Into the Environment) was set up to raise awareness and understanding of the potential environmental impacts of the UK offshore windfarm programme. Through COWRIE, The Crown Estate aims to achieve effective management and access to the large resources of data that become available through offshore wind farm projects, while insuring that all of this data complies with a given standard. Established at Round I and mandatory from Round II developments, wind farm lease agreements commit developers to report all project data to COWRIE. A range of data and reports is to be submitted throughout the project life cycle, covering themes such as ecology, physical environment, socio-economics, and site infrastructure. SeaPlanner ensures that all submissions meet the necessary metadata requirements: upon receipt of new data, its metadata is verified to meet the required standards. SeaPlanner can manage the upload of data to COWRIE.
